ADVision v.4.4 Release

March 11th, 2009

Auto catching algorithm

  • When enabled, the auto catching algorithm compares each frame to a group of auto catch setup shots. When a match is found, the system will automatically start tracking
  • An auto catch setup shot can be copied from regular setup shots or can be captured while the system is tracking
  • The system can hold up to 16 setup shots
  • If tracking started the first frame after a cut, the graphics will be shown in the specified opacity
  • If tracking started after the first frame after the cut, the graphics will fade in according the specified fade in time
  • Each time a match is found, the system can draw the field matrix on the matched frame to help the user verify the match. This feature is enabled/disabled by clicking on a dedicated button on the keyboard

Baseball billboard plug-in

  • The baseball billboard plug-in was developed on top of the auto catching feature
  • The plug-in was developed to insert a billboard on the wall behind the batter
  • The plug-in includes a unique setup whose only requirement is the billboard’s width
  • Includes an option to limit the auto catching zone, thereby improving the auto catching performance

Embedded clip player with alpha channel and audio mixing

  • The clip player can play video clips or animation clips that will be tied to field, similar to the still images workflow
  • The clips are stored on a dedicated clips storage
  • The clip storage includes 2X500GB 3.5” disks striped for performance (raid 0)
  • The clips can be prepared in different formats
  • The recommended format includes alpha in a quick time file using "animation" codec
  • The clips can be rendered in any size of width and height, up to full HD 1920X1080 resolution
  • The system supports alpha channel
  • The system supports clips with audio channel
  • Each clip can have different opacity and can be presented in a chroma or linear key
  • Audio channels can be mixed into the embedded output
  • Each clip position is previewed by showing a same sized tif file
  • Pressing the on-air button will automatically play the clip
  • The system can cash up to 16 different clips
  • The user can set clip to run once or in loop

Other changes and improvements

  • Improved tracking engine
  • Manual control over video delay time (3 to 16 frames). The extended delay can improve the performance of “on-cut” insertions when working from the down link
  • Manual control over all chroma parameters
  • Chroma parameters are automatically saved when exiting the application
  • If needed, the user can set private chroma parameters per setup, or  can be grouped with up to four chroma groups
  • Global graphics positioning from real time GUI
  • A flash detector allows the system to keep tracking while still camera flashes are used during indoor productions. This feature is enabled all the time, since it does not have any negative aspects
  • When exiting the application the system will ask the user to save unsaved setups
